The IAS team led by Associate Directors Professor Di Wang and Professor Bing Shui, visited the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI)and received a warm welcome from Professor Chun-ming Wang, the Deputy Director of ZUMRI.
The team visited three research centres: the Advanced Materials Research Center, the Smart City R&D Center, and the Chinese Medicine and the Translational Medicine R&D Center. Professor Chunming Wang introduced the usage of smart city and IoT applications on traffic and public safety. He also shared the research collaborations between the university and companies, with the goal of nurturing talents in related fields.
Professor Shui appreciated the interdisciplinary platform and geographical advantages of ZUMRI and was excited about the potential collaboration that would promote multidisciplinary interaction and dialogue in the humanities and sciences. The Head of Academic Programme and Publication of IAS, Professor Shaoyang Lin praised the industry-academia collaboration research strategy, he also mentioned that the visit helped the team gain a deeper understanding of ZUMRI’s current scientific research development.
Professor Shui and Professor Lin presented Professor Chunming Wang with a pennant to express our gratitude at the end of the visit. Both parties had in-depth discussions and expressed their hope to strengthen exchanges and potential collaborations in the future.
